How we build and check listings

RestaurantMatrix is a directory of Manhattan restaurants built to answer practical questions fast: where is it, what does it serve, roughly what does it cost, and is it open when I want to go?

Where the information comes from

For each restaurant we record the name, street address, phone number, cuisine, price level and regular weekly opening hours from its public business listing. The current set of 100 listings was checked on October 19, 2026, and that date appears on every page.

Hours are stored day by day (including split lunch and dinner services and late closings that run past midnight), which is how the site can tell you what's open right now in New York time.

What the price symbols mean

A dash (—) means no price level was listed.

What we publish, and what we don't

Why some neighborhoods and cuisines don't have pages yet

We only publish a neighborhood or cuisine page when there are enough checked restaurants to make it useful. Areas with only a few listings so far, such as Chelsea, are still searchable but don't get their own page until the list grows.

Corrections

Restaurants change their hours, move and close. If you spot an error, send a correction. We recheck the listing and update the "last checked" date.

Paid listings

RestaurantMatrix is independent. If we offer paid placement in the future, those listings will always be clearly labeled "Featured", and payment never changes the facts we show about a restaurant. Information for restaurant owners.
